Vikings set sail to Italy. The distributor Boutique Cigars SRLS and Viking Cigars signed an exclusive distribution deal. With that, the Norwegian owned Dominican made cigars are going to be available in the boot of Europe sometime in the next coming weeks.
Viking is the brainchild of Hakon Aanonsen. Aanonsen is a distributor and online retailer in Norway. He distributes Habanos and several new world cigars in his home country. Years ago he launched his brands, Hawk and Amero. But those brands didn’t live up to the expectation. The quality just wasn’t good enough for the demanding cigar enthusiasts in Europe. So the brands were discontinued.
Fast forward a few years, and Aanonsen is back. With a new concept, Viking Cigars. With the help of some friends, he was able to create a new line of cigars. To highlight his roots, the brand is called Viking. Viking Cigars are made in the Dominican Republic. At Tabacalera La Alianza from no other than industry legend Ernesto Perez Carrillo. The cigars stand out because of the artwork. The cigar rings are made from a metal alloy, something not used by other manufacturers.
Currently, there are four blends available. Those are the Norseman with a Connecticut shade wrapper. The Nordic Warrior with a Sumatra wrapper. The Viking with a Maduro wrapper. And the latest addition to the family, The Valhalla. That one has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The rest of the blends of all four cigars is undisclosed.
All four blends will be available to Italian cigar aficionados soon. Which vitolas are available has not been revealed by Viking Cigars or Boutique Cigars SRLS.
