On January 23rd, Houvenaghel will be at the Cigar Malaysia retail store at 163 Kiara from 8 pm. And a day later, Friday the 24th, the tasting takes place at the cigar lounge of Cigar Malaysia at the Ansa Hotel in the Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur. Tickets for each event are available for 129 RM. Tickets include a (non-alcoholic) refreshment, light snacks, and two cigars. Those cigars are the La Ley Robusto and the La Ley Reserva Exquisito.
La Ley and From Soil to Soul
The La Ley brand was blended and developed by Houvenaghel and his close friend A.J. Fernandez. Fernandez is also responsible for the production of all of Houvenaghel’s cigars. Besides La Ley, Houvenaghel makes La Preferida, Nicarao, and La Furia cigars, all are available in Europe and several other international markets. The brands are under the umbrella of DH Boutique cigars.
Houvenaghel is also the author of From Soil to Soul. He used his degree in agricultural engineering, for which he studied in Belgium and in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, to write the most comprehensive book on tobacco ever. The book is out of print, but every once in a while a copy can be found on eBay or Amazon. But not to worry, Houvenaghel is working on an upgraded version of the book.
Tickets for the events can be reserved at the Cigar Malaysia outlets, through their social media and the Cigar Malaysia website.
