The Netherlands finally get Aging Room Quatro Nicaragua. For the longest time, The Netherlands had great luck when it came to Cigar Aficionado’s cigar of the year. Either the winner of the Top 25 was already available on the Dutch market. Or if was introduced in the weeks after publication of the list. In the last few years that luck changed.
When La Flor Dominicana on the race in 2016, the brand was in between distributors. It took two years before the La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull reached the Dutch cigar aficionados. And even then, in limited supply. It took Ernesto Perez-Carrillo to win the top 25 to find a distributor after a hiatus for years in The Netherlands. It took almost a year before the Encore Majestic made it into humidors of retailers in The Netherlands. And last year’s winner, Aging Room, only made a brief appearance in The Netherlands years ago. But when its distributor stopped distributing premium handmade cigars, the brand vanished. Until now.
Aging Room Quatro Nicaragua
The new distributor is Longfiller Company. The distribution company of Sasja Van Horssen. He owns four Van Dalen Cigars tobacconists and the flagship Cigaragua store. The Aging Room brand is now part of the portfolio of Altadis USA. But the cigars are made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez. Longfiller Company happens to be the distributor for A.J. Fernandez.
The 100% Nicaraguan cigars are made from Cuban seed tobaccos. There are four sizes available. Those are a 5×50 Robusto with the name Espressivo. The 6×52 Maestro is a torpedo. That was the cigar of the year 2019 with a 96 score. The Concerto is a 7×50 Churchill. And finally there is a 6×54 Toro with the name Vibrato. All sizes are inbound according to Longfiller Company.
