Tabacalera introduces Nicaraguan Capitol. The former Spanish tobacco monopoly is still the market leader for premium cigars in Spain. In collaboration with the influential Plasencia family, Capitol is created. This brand new luxury premium cigar brand is made in Esteli at the Plasencia Cigars factory.
The cigar is completely Nicaraguan. Nicaraguan filler, binder, and wrapper. The goal while blending Capitol was a sophisticated blend. Rafael Nodal, the master blender for Aging Room and Altadis USA is the head of the blending team that created the cigars.
Sizes and availability
The line consists of three cigars so far. There is a Capitol Jack, a 4 ¾ x52 robusto. The MSRP in Spain is 8 euro. The 5 ⅓ x54 Capitol Casino is a bit bigger and thicker and goes for €10 per cigar. The thickest cigar in the line-up is the Capitol Gala. It measures 6×56 and has a price tag of € 12 in Spain. All cigars come with pigtails.
The cigars are packed in Art Deco style boxes, with the glamour of the golden twenties. The cigar rings are in the same Art Deco style. The ring has plenty of details, gold, and engravings.
At the moment, Capitol cigars are only available in Spain. But according to sources within Tabacalera, the rest of the world can expect the cigars soon. Tabacalera is planning an international release of the Capitol Jack, Capitol Casino, and the Capitol Gala.
According to the tasting note provided by Tabacalera, the cigars are medium to full-bodied. The flavors are in the wood, toast, coffee, spice, and sweetness part of the flavor wheel. Ministry of Cigars is planning to review the cigars as soon as possible.
