More events canceled over covid-19. After the cancellation of the Asian leg of the Cigar Smoking World Championship, and soon after the cancelation of all the qualifiers till the end of May, more events are canceled. Several large events in the USA are canceled, such as Drew Estate Barn Smokers, Texas Cigar Festival and Cigarfest. But Europe faces the same issues
The Italian Amicigar is a group of Italian cigar aficionados. It started out as a small club but has grown over the years. Once a year, they organize a big get-together. For this year, the annual get together would take place in Antwerp. With both the La Casa del Habano and the Cohiba Atmosphere in the Belgian city as locations. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekend has been canceled. Italy is still under a full lock-down. There are travel restrictions all over Europe. And it’s unclear until when the restrictions will be lifted. The uncertainty and the question of whether it will be safe to travel at the end of June forced Amicigar to cancel the 2020 event.
Tabakado, a renowned tobacconist in Eindhoven, The Netherlands has to cancel two events. The Dutch government is forbidding any gathering until the first of June. Tabakado had two events planned in May which had to be canceled due to that restriction.
On May 8, David Blanco from Blanco Cigars would be in Eindhoven for a Friday Night Smoke in the lounge of Tabakado. And on May 29th, Jeremy Casdagli from Casdagli Cigars would be in the shop introducing the Daughters of the Wind Cremello Lancero in The Netherlands. The cigar will still be introduced, yet not with an event.
