Gurkha Nicaragua introduced globally. The brand is shipping the cigars to American retailers now and to the international distributors early 2020. The four vitola line is made in Nicaragua at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA). That factory is famous for Casa Fernandez, cigars from Warped and Foundation amongst others. The wrapper is Aganorsa Corojo 99 Clara. The cigar has a double Corojo 99 Aganorsa binder and fillers from Aganorsa as well.

At the Intertabac Trade Show, the International Director of Gurkha Cigars showcased some of the other products that are new offerings for the international distributors of Gurkha Cigars. There are new parejo Toros and Robustos in both the Gurkha Cellar Reserve 12 years and the Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 years. The Gurkha Cellar Reserve 12 years is made at American Caribbean Cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua. The blend has a 12-year-old filler from Condega, Esteli, and Jalapa. The binder is also Nicaraguan. The wrapper is an Oscuro wrapper from Ecuador. Previously, all offerings are ring size 58, but the new sizes are Those are a 5×52 Robusto and a 6×54 Toro. The Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 years is made at Tabacalera Las Lavas in the Dominican Republic. The blend has 15-year-old Dominican tobaccos in the filler. The binder is Dominican Olor. The wrapper is Criollo 98. Previously, a 4×58 Perfecto, 5×58 Double Robusto, 6×58 Gran Rothschild, a 7×54 Churchill, and a 6×60 XO were available. With the new sizes, the total number of vitolas will come to 7.
Three different infused Gurkha cigars will get a line extension too. There is a cognac infused Grand Reserva. The Private Select is rum-infused. And the Bourbon Collection is bourbon infused. Those three lines will get a 5×42 Corona added to the line-up.
The biggest new release for Gurkha at the IPCPR was the Gurkha Treinta. That cigar commemorates the 30th anniversary of the purchase of the Gurkha brand by Kaizad Hansotia. The cigars are blended with Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa and Esteli. Corojo 99 and Criollo 98 are included in the filler. The binder is an Aganorsa Corojo 99. The wrapper comes from Ecuador. It’s a Habano Rosado wrapper.
The regular production cigars will be available in three sizes. Those are Robusto 5×50, Toro 6×54, and Magnum 6×60. But there will be two exclusive sizes that will only be available in a limited edition humidor. Gurkha made 1000 humidors that include 50 cigars. 25 Gurkha Treinta Belicoso of 6 1/4×52 and 25 Gurkha Treinta Figurado of 6¾x52. For the international markets, Gurkha decided to have different humidors. They opted for black lacquered humidors instead of the wood-grained ones that are released in the United States. Gurkha did not disclose how many humidors there were made for the international markets.
