Fratello releasing Arlequin in 2 sizes. The original Fratello Arlequin is part of the Fratello Space Pack. The Space Pack contains four 6×50 Toro cigars, including two new blends. One of those blends is the Arlequin, which Ministry of Cigars reviewed. The feedback from Fratello smokers prompted Omar de Frias to release the Arlequin as his new line: Fratello Arlequin Prensado
But De Frias decided not to release the Arlequin Prensado without making some changes. The 6×50 Toro won’t be released. That is a Space Pack exclusive size. The Fratello Arlequin Prensado is planned for a September release and will come in two sizes. Those are a 5½x52 Robusto and a 6½x54 Toro. Both sizes are box-pressed.
“We had an overwhelming response to our market research. We had people from all over the world submitting their preferred smoke. I was so impressed with the data, as different countries and demographics would be favor one blend over the other.” Said de Frias in a press release.
For the Fratello Arlequin Prensado, De Frias blended Nicaraguan and Peruvian tobaccos. Then he added an Ecuadorian Habano binder and a Mexican San Andres wrapper. The cigars are produced in Esteli, Nicaragua at Fabrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua. Joya de Nicaragua is responsible for most Fratello cigars, yet not all
A few weeks ago, during a Zoom with the New Zealand cigar enthusiasts, organized by Fratello’s New Zealand distributor Canteros, De Frias mentioned that the Arlequin would be his next big release. Back then, De Frias didn’t give any details on size, availability nor release dates.
The second new blend in the Fratello Space Pack is the Sorella. The Sorella is made with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper overtop an Indonesian binder with Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Whether this blend is released outside of the Space Pack and in different sizes is yet to be revealed.
