Balmoral Añejo XO Connecticut now in Switzerland. A few months ago, Ministry of Cigars broke the news that the cigars would be distributed in Europe. And the cigar is available in Germany and the Benelux now. A review of the Balmoral Anejo XO Connecticut can be found here.
And now the cigars are being released in Switzerland. Distributor The Royal Cigar Company confirmed that they will start distributing all five sizes of the Balmoral Añejo XO Connecticut line. Those are a Torpedo MK25 with a length of 6¼ and a ring of 52. The Gran Toro measures 6×52. There is a Rothschild Masivo from 5×55. Then there is a Corona measuring 5⅞x42. And finally, there is a Petit Robusto FT from 4¼x48.
Tobacco and prices
The Balmoral Añejo XO Connecticut is made from some rare tobaccos. The filler contains a rarely used Pennsylvania 41 tobacco, mixed with Dominican Olor. And as a finishing touch, some exclusive Brazilian Mata Norte tobacco is used. That tobacco comes from the Mata Norte region of Brazil. The binder is Sumatra but from a twenty-year-old crop. The tobacco was harvested in 1999. The wrapper is true Connecticut Shade, coming from the Connecticut River Valley.
The prices set by the distributor are 8.90 CHF for the Petit Robusto FT. The Rothschild Masivo comes at 10.80 CHF. The Balmoral Añejo XO Connecticut Corona has a price tag of 9.50 CHF. The Gran Toro is 10.80 CHF. And the last cigar, the MK52 will be 11.50 CHF.
The Balmoral Añejo Series now consists of three blends. The Balmoral Añejo XO, the Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro and the Balmoral Añejo XO Connecticut. Of those three, only the Balmoral Añejo XO and the Balmoral Añejo XO Connecticut are available in Switzerland. If the Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro will be available soon is still a question.
