Agio is releasing Balmoral Añejo Nicaragua at the IPCPR trade show. At first only on the American market, yet the cigars are expected globally in after the new year.

Boris Wintermans, CEO of Royal Agio Cigars stated, “The new Añejo XO Nicaragua is a special blend that has been in development for quite some time because, as usual, we wanted to ensure that we had the perfect combination of unique and exclusive, aged premium tobaccos that would make this Nicaragua blend truly stand out. Our curious approach to blending has once again led us to an exceptional, one-of-a-kind discovery sure to delight cigar lovers everywhere.”

The Balmoral Añejo XO Nicaragua is blended with a Sun Grown Habano wrapper from Nicaragua. Royal Agio did not reveal the binder of the filler in the press release. The cigars are made at the Royal Agio Cigar Factory in San Pedro de Macoris. The cigar will be available as an MK52 Torpedo, Gran Toro, Rothschild Masivo, Corona and Petit Robusto. The cigars will start shipping in August.

Balmoral Añejo XO Series

The Balmoral Añejo XO Nicaragua is the fourth installment of the Balmoral Añejo XO series. The regular Añejo XO series sports a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper (click here for the review of the Añejo XO Gran Toro). Then there is the Añejo XO Connecticut (click here for the review of the Añejo XO Connecticut Masivo Rothschild) with an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. The Añejo XO Oscuro has a Mexican San Andres wrapper. All are available in the same sizes as the new Añejo XO Nicaragua. Those are a 6¼x52 MK52 Torpedo, a 6×52 Gran Toro, 5×55 Masivo Rothschild, 5⅞x42 Corona, and the 4¼x48 Petit Robusto FT. The FT stands for ‘flag tail’.
