ACE Prime releases two new cigars. In the United States, the cigars are exclusively distributed by Crowned Heads. ACE Prime is the collaboration between 4th generation Don Eradio Pichardo and Luciano Meirelles. The due founded and own Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua. Crowned Head makes cigars at that factory as well.

Pichardo Maduro

ACE Prime’s marquee brand is called Pichardo. It’s named after Don Eradio Pichardo. He is a fourth-generation tobacconist. His family is involved in tobacco for more than 150 years. Don Pichardo used to work for Cubatabaco and Habanos before settling in Nicaragua. In Cuba, he was responsible for the Partagas Serie E and Partagas Serie D blends. In 2005 he moved to Nicaragua.

The current line-up of Pichardo cigars is the Pichardo Reserva Familiar and the Pichardo Clasico. But now there’s a new blend. Pichardo Maduro. It is made with a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper around Nicaraguan filler and binder. It’s available in one size only, a 6½x50 box-pressed toro. “I’m very proud of our aging process and our ability to produce this smooth Maduro. Only Pichardo could produce such a clean and smooth experience in a true Maduro cigar,” says Luciano Meirelles (Co-Founder of Tabacalera Pichardo and Ace Prime).

Luciano The Dreamer

Luciano Meirelles, the business partner of Don Pichardo, has a cigar named after him as well. In 2019, ACE Prime released Luciano The Traveler. That is a single vitola release. But now there is a new size, with a new name. Luciano The Dreamer is a 7½x38 Lancero. The cigar is regular production, yet production is seasonal.

The blend uses an Ecuadorian Habano Corojo 99 wrapper. The binder is Nicaraguan. The filler contains tobacco from Peru and Nicaragua. The cigars are produced at Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua. A box of these Lanceros contains 15 cigars.

In a press release, Luciano Meirelles said “I wanted to produce a cigar that would represent the human imagination. It is inspired by the book The Artisan Soul by Erwin McManus.”
