A Tyrannical Buc Barberpole is coming. Jas Sum Kral is releasing a Tyrannical Buc barber pole this spring. The cigar will debut at The Golden Leaf in Hobart, Indiana next month. A month later, the cigar will make its national debut with international markets following later.
In early 2019 a new logo appeared on the Jas Sum Kral social media channels. No further information, just a logo and a name: Tyrannical Buc, a reference to the nickname Riste Buc. In April the Tyrannical Buc Maduro saw its release, with a Connecticut Shade version later in 2019. Ministry of Cigars did a review of the Tyrannical Buc Maduro Magnum 48 and the Tyrannical Buc Connecticut Generosos. There was also a short-run version with a Habano wrapper for Cigar Federation and two Ezra Zion lounges.
Jas Sum Kral owner Riste Ristevski explains the idea for the Tyrannical Buc barberpole. “Every year I make a cigar for Golden Leaf to be released in March. Last few years it was a Solomon size of one of the blends. This year I decided on a barber pole because the Tyrannical line is 2 blends.” The premiere of the annual cigar for Golden Leaf is always during the Ristefari weekend, a Jas Sum Kral event.
The Jas Sum Kral Tyrannical Buc Barberpole uses the Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania filler from the regular Maduro and Connecticut versions. The same Nicaraguan binder as well. The only difference is that instead of using one of the two different wrappers, both are on the cigar. Those are a Connecticut Broadleaf and an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade. As with all Jas Sum Kral cigars, production takes place at Tabacalera Aragon in Esteli, Nicaragua.
The Jas Sum Kral Tyrannical Buc comes in a 6×50 Toro in bundles of 10. The MSRP is $110 for a bundle.
